How About a Boycott?

I haven't posted on Michael Jackson because I was never a fan, so I had nothing to contribute. Would've been self serving and hypocritical.

But I am ticked at his father now:

Michael Jackson's Father Talks Record Label

Egad, what an ass!

I say NO ONE should buy a damn thing that he has a hand in! Easy for me to say, since I probably wouldn't be interested in the stuff anyway, but it would be sad if that jerk made dime one from THAT performance.

How can someone be so cold? I look at my kids, I look at my friends with their kids, I can't even imagine any of us being so calm and selfish. It's creepy.

Like I mentioned, I've never been a Jackson fan. But this is one dirtbag that absolutely should not have outlived his child.

4 Favorite Harleys

I've made fun of Harley Davidson (AKA Hardly Ableson, or Hardly Riddenson) quite a few times. But there are some models of Harley that I just love and would immediately buy if I won a lottery.

First up is the very first Super Glide.

1971 Super Glide

Unlike most people, I love the fiberglass boat tail back fender.
I first saw one of these in a Hot Rod magazine ad when I was in elementary school. It was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen and remains so to this day.
I would leave it absolutely stock except to modernize the engine internals, such as hardened valve guides.

Next is a 1986 FXRD, the only year they made them.

FXRD

I had an 89 FXRT, which is a slightly stripped down version of the same bike, having just the fairing and saddlebags. I added everything you see on the FXRD except the floorboards and I was going to get to those when I had to sell it (layoffs, kids, minivans...). These are, to my mind, the most functional HD's ever made, but they "Duh-uh, didn't look like a Harley" so they didn't sell.

Third we have the 1973 Sportster. Same as the 72, but with a front disk brake.

You Tube 73 Sporty

I had a 72 with an updated front brake. Oil leaking, vibrated like a paint shaker, unreliable, handled badly. But man she was sexy and just a hoot to ride.

And last, but not least, the XLCR.

XLCR Cafe

Again, "Duh-uh, didn't look like a Harley" and so a functional bike didn't sell.

There you go. Four Harleys that I would love to have in my stable (if I had a stable).
Just to bop around on short trips and to stare at.

Touring? Nope, I'd get a Victory Vision

Daily ride? Nope, I like my 82 Honda Magna for that.

Now I know there are many other very good Harleys, but overall, these are the only ones that truly interest me. Of course, I need to be realistic, none of the four are easy or cheap to come by. If I ever do get another HD, it will likely be a late model 883 Sportster which is OK really. After all, I was thinking about getting one as a first bike for my oldest daughter. That plan has changed, more about that later.

Global Warming is Crap VIII

From the NYT of all places. I don't believe much of anything in that rag, but this article goes AGAINST the AlGorian Order's scripture, and AGAINST the stated beliefs of The One, so here we have one of the most devout grovelers known actually printing blasphemy!
Something must be up.

U.S. Climate Report Assailed

Here are some links referenced in the article:

Roger Pielke Jr.'s Blog

Heh heh.

This next blog article doesn't disagree directly with the AlGorian Order, but it points out the bullcrap. What is really cool about the next article are the responses:

Prometheus

Ah what a wonderful government we have, cherry picking unsubstantiated bits and pieces from real works to "prove" that GlobeAl Goreming is real.

Where's the damn change and transparency? Still a bunch of lying liers telling lies (no apologies to Al Franken).

FINALLY!

Well, I'd pretty much lost hope that this would ever happen. But, glory be, it has!

Someone other than Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and the like has poked some fun at The One.
Hell, not even Jon Stewart is willing to speak truth to The One's power, what chance has anyone else got? Especially when folks like Stewart will attack you for your blasphemy.

Thank God (or Allah, or Buddha, or Ereshkigal or any supreme being(s) you may or may not worship or be familiar with, may or may not believe in, may or may not be offended by. I apologize for mentioning the supreme being worshiped by those known to be the most evil creatures that ever walked the earth, who call themselves Christians, said being generally known as "God" I only included the name here in an admittedly misdirected but sincere attempt to be fair and balanced and because I am a direct descendant of these foul Christian animals and cannot control my depravity) the good folks at JibJab have decided to take a chance on being shut down by releasing this video:

He's Barak Obama

I wonder if Stewart will attack JibJab? I wonder if Congress will attempt to pass a "fairness in comedy" act?

Wouldn't surprise me. But enjoy this in the meantime!

Global Warming is Crap VII

Conflicting data it seems. Just ask a farmer.

Crops under stress

But of course GlobAL GOREming will not be denied. The soldiers of truth shall carry on despite the ignorant self destructive naysayers.

Too narrow a time frame? Global warming (more accurately, GlobeAL GOREming. I got that off another blog or article, can't remember where for the life of me. If I ever find out, I'll credit it) is a long term thing? Can't use individual incidents to try and prove/disprove it?
Right you are:

Dying Aussie Bats

Geez, when it's hot out, that's global warming. When it's cold out, that's global warming.
Any science going on around here anywhere?

On a slightly related subject, I do have to defend public transportation after reading this article. I couldn't sleep otherwise:

Think twice about 'green' transportation

Well, this seems to be putting the cart before the horse so to speak. Mass transit becomes more efficient as more people use it. Sure, it could be less efficient than a car or even SUV if there's few riders, but if I were in a position to use it, I would ignore this 'few riders' logic.
I do want to point out that those who revile SUVs and large cars across the board are boneheads too, as one would have to measure energy use per passenger and big vehicles are pretty efficient when you pack the family in them.

State Run Media

For quite a while now, we conservatives have been half jokingly referring to ABC, CNN, MSDNC, er MSNBC, NYT, etc. as the "state run media." Maybe make that quarter jokingly?

Anyways, ABC has finally decided to make it official. The following quote was cut & pasted from the Drudge report:

ABC TURNS PROGRAMMING OVER TO OBAMA; NEWS TO BE ANCHORED FROM INSIDE WHITE HOUSE
Tue Jun 16 2009 08:45:10 ET

On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care -- a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm!

Highlights on the agenda:

ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House.

The network plans a primetime special -- 'Prescription for America' -- originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate.

The Director of Communications at the White House Office of Health Reform is Linda Douglass, who worked as a reporter for ABC News from 1998-2006.

Late Monday night, Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay fired off a complaint to the head of ABCNEWS:

Dear Mr. Westin:

As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC's astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform “town hall” at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC’s web news “will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.” This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president’s health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming.

Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party's views to those of the President's to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party's opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers.

In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime.

Respectfully,
Ken McKay
Republican National Committee
Chief of Staff

MORE

ABCNEWS Senior Vice President Kerry Smith on Tuesday responded to the RNC complaint, saying it contained 'false premises':

"ABCNEWS prides itself on covering all sides of important issues and asking direct questions of all newsmakers -- of all political persuasions -- even when others have taken a more partisan approach and even in the face of criticism from extremes on both ends of the political spectrum. ABCNEWS is looking for the most thoughtful and diverse voices on this issue.

"ABCNEWS alone will select those who will be in the audience asking questions of the president. Like any programs we broadcast, ABC News will have complete editorial control. To suggest otherwise is quite unfair to both our journalists and our audience."

This is indeed a sad day for what little remained of the Fourth Estate. Finally, there is no more dissembling, no more mask. ABC is state run media.

Maybe they'll be OK right? Maybe they'll be fair and balanced (hah!):

ABC promises Republicans health care coverage won't be Obama 'infomercial'

I don't believe that crap for a NY minute. Here's a taste of what's to come, again copied from the Drudge Report:

ABC REFUSES OPPOSITION ADS DURING WHITE HOUSE SPECIAL
Wed Jun 17 2009 15:15:00 ET

ABC is refusing to air paid ads during its White House health care presentation, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, including a paid-for alternative viewpoint!

The development comes a day after the network denied a request by the Republican National Committee to feature a representative of the party's views during the Obama special.

Conservatives for Patients Rights requested the rates to buy a 60-second spot immediately preceding 'Prescription for America'.

Statement from Rick Scott, chairman of Conservatives for Patients Rights:

"It is unfortunate - and unusual - that ABC is refusing to accept paid advertising that would present an alternative viewpoint for the White House health care event. Health care is an issue that touches every American and all potential pieces of legislation have carried a pricetag in excess of $1 trillion of taxpayers' money. The American people deserve a healthy, robust debate on this issue and ABC's decision - as of now - to exclude even paid advertisements that present an alternative view does a disservice to the public. Our organization is more than willing to purchase ad time on ABC to present an alternative viewpoint and our hope is that ABC will reconsider having such viewpoints be part of this crucial debate for the American people. We were surprised to hear that paid advertisements would not be accepted when we inquired and we would certainly be open to purchasing time if ABC would reconsider."

Now to be fair, some say this is overblown and much ado about nothing:

ABC Defends Decision to Broadcast From White House

Well, it would be nice if ABC shows all sides of this story and leads the country into a good, healthy discussion of this important topic. We DO need a good discussion, cuz right now it seems like a lot of bullshit from both sides of the issue.
But I absolutely do NOT trust ABC and their Democrat friends to do this. They WILL present one side over the other. It WILL be an Obama infomercial.
Be cool if I'm wrong, but don't bet against me.

Now these folks say that this is just tit for tat, cuz that awful, evil, lying, ultra conservative, bile spewing, buck tooth, retard Fox News did a special on Bush in the White House (oh man, that opens up a world of crude images):

Crooks and Liars

OK, not exactly the same thing, but I'll go along with accusations of fawning.
Uh, except this brown noser did it every bit as well, better actually, being on Twitter and all:

Follow NBC's Coverage "Inside the Obama White House" on Twitter

Oh, uh, here:

Inside the Obama White House

Oooooh, my leg is just TINGLING.

So, anyone who got all in a Huffington, er huff, about Brett's Bush White House lovefest can go piss up a rope.

Let's face it, these guys in the State Run Media would eat a mile of Obama's feces just to have the honor of getting to where it came from so they can french kiss the glorious area. Repeatedly.

ABC is so far the only one to snuggle right in nice and tight. Officially.

Final word will be from the great Chris Muir:

An Open Letter to The One

No, I didn't write this, but I sure do agree with it. Well, most of it.

This was written by Lou Pritchett, who was a vice president of Proctor & Gamble. Worked there for 36 years, retiring in 1989.
In 1995 he authored a book titled "Stop Paddling & Start Rocking the Boat."

This open letter to The One came to me from The Patriot Depot
, whom I've bought a few little items from.

Here ya go:

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America, and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and "class," always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the "blame America" crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer "wind mills" to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use "extortion" tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Reillys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Lou Pritchett

Yep, he sees our future coming right at us like a freight train from Hell.
