And So It Begins

Well the easy part of my prolix prognostication post has come to pass. Oooh, I feel like a veritable Nostradamus I do.

Not that it matters, but I wrote in Bob Barr for president, selected the Libertarian (crap I can't even remember his name) for Congress, and Republicans for all else, since there weren't any Libertarians running that I was aware of.
I voted NO on both referendums, or ballot initiatives or whatever they're called.

Now, I'm anxious to see how the economic policies play out.

In a way, I'm relieved. Little boring bastards like me won't get beat up much for a year or two and might even get some kind of socialist type handouts, so my family and I should be OK for now. That is of course if my first possible scenario plays out.

You know, back in the '80s I (young but precocious) predicted doom and gloom from the Reagan presidency. Now, I can point to some things that are definitely worse than they were before him thanks to his policies, but I can just as easily (gulp) admit where his policies had a positive, or at least negligible effect.

What happens if your doom and gloom scenarios don't play out? I mean, sure we're in a pretty steep nosedive into a recession right now, but what if we pull out? N.B. That may be because of positive actions from the government or coincidental, like the tech boom of the late '90s that made the Clinton administration look like economic geniuses through no fault of their own.

If we pull out, will you be able to help talk down the crazies on the right who only see demons?

Obviously, if we don't pull out...well...yikes!

I hope my doom and gloom scenarios DON'T play out!
Can you just imagine a country where the taxes are fair, the poor taken care of, and no one has to worry about their family's well being? Damn, I want in on a world like that!
But such a country cannot exist for a long period of time without it's economy falling apart.

Such a country is exactly what the Obamessiah has promised us, and that's why I see the doom & gloom.

If I'm wrong, lemme tell ya I'll be the happiest wrong person you ever saw because I'm exactly the sort of pipsqueak who gets screwed in a country like our present one.

No, I won't be able to talk the crazies on the right down. It's impossible to talk to crazies.
Have you ever been able to talk the crazies on the left down?

The only thing you can talk to the crazies on the left about is where the best tofuburger is in town and how much better the world would be if we all wore hemp clothing and drove hemp-powered cars.

It amazes me how similar the extremists are on both sides.

Right wing crazies won't be happy until the govt rules by bible, there's no one but lily white Christian's, and, well, we're all pretty much the same.

Similar in that both are incredibly arrogant, have a very narrow world view, and don't tolerate disagreement with their opinions and beliefs.

Made for each other I say.

Hey, you got me thinking (no mean feat).

I'm going to start LOOKING for positive things that occur as a result of Obama's presidency.

No president has ever been all wrong, not even Carter.

In a way, it's my responsibility as an adult to do this. I'm not kidding.
